Fancy a free 10 day trip to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia?
The British Muslim Heritage Centre in conjunction with www.flynas.com are offering 5 lucky winners a free 10 day return-trip from Manchester to Jeddah in the month of May (each winner will receive a pair of tickets to enable you to travel with a companion).
To enter the competition, you’ll have to submit a creative piece of work – a presentation showcasing your genealogy or family history, covering at least two generations.
So how your parents/grandparents arrived in this country, a contribution or something interesting they have done, perhaps they were pioneers in a particular field?
Or maybe you’re a ‘normal’ family of straight-forward people just getting on with life, but have an interesting background you’d like to share with the world?
We want you to help us build a picture of the Muslim community in the UK today, so give us an outline, or a good spread of your family. Maybe a family tree might impress the judges if done in a creative manner!
The work should be between 2,000 and 3,000 words long and MUST be submitted by 5:00pm on 21st April 2014. To make things a little easier for youngsters, BMHC have created a separate category for 12-16 year olds.
You can either hand your work in personally or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Further information can be found on the BMHC’s T&Cs page: http://www.bmhc.org.uk/flynas-geneology-competition-tcs.
